I awoke very early this morning due to my head cold. Felt better being up so I had breakfast and tea and watched the sun rise. The sky was clear as the blueness spread behind the huge bare tree branches. My husband was up early and when we were discussing where to start the day's work...I just couldn't function...the head cold was still sitting there waiting to take over other parts of my tired body. Going back to bed seemed the only sensible thing to do...the sleep was so restorative.
Two boxes have been packed...some craft work is bagged.
I stopped at 10:30 am to celebrate Remembrance Day, proud of the freedoms that I live with today. Also remembering the stories my Mother told me of her life during the Blitz in London, England. She was a young wife very pregnant with my brother but determined to carry on with her daily life which she said many Londoners did even with the bombs falling around them. Her stories were so full of life and people handling unusual situations with strength and courage.
The sun has been wonderful today. I went into my garden and collected some holly and juniper to take with us when we leave this house.
Here's hoping that my cold will fade quickly because I took things slowly today.
Sunshine & Laughter
